Principal TODAY
Breakfast: Thursday, November 30, 2023
School Site Visits: Monday, December 4 through Friday, December 8, 2023
Principal TODAY engages the private sector to take a leadership role in public education. We invite business and community leaders to join us in revitalizing public education. The goal of the program is for each participant to translate their one-day experience into a long-term relationship that enhances the learning environment of their partner school and supports student achievement.
Who participates in Principal TODAY?
Individuals who demonstrate commitment to partnering with a public school, have expertise and interests that can benefit the school community and are willing to leverage professional and personal resources to support their partner school.
What is the schedule for Principal TODAY?
Principal TODAY begins with a special kick-off breakfast for principals to join their invited business/ community leaders to plan their day at the assigned school. On a day the following week, principals host business/ community leaders at the school.
May I choose which school to partner with?
Yes. Please keep in mind that due to the volume of requests received from business leaders, your first choice may not be available. We will make every attempt to accommodate your preference for placement; however, each of our schools offers a wonderful opportunity to serve and form a partnership.
What is the commitment of a Principal TODAY?
Following your school visit, there will be opportunities for you and colleagues in your organization to enhance academic achievement by partnering to develop resources that support your school. We suggest that each Principal partner work with the school principal for the duration of the school year to identify potential areas of collaboration and develop initiatives to help address pressing school needs.
How can a school benefit from this particular partnership?
A Principal has the opportunity to bring a wealth of resources into his/her school through such a partnership. The resources, expertise and talents developed through this partnership can provide curricular enhancements and professional development for administrators and staff, as well as create a positive school environment that impacts academic achievement.
